Minutes of July 17, 2008

Business Meeting

President John Novick called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. at Denny's, with 30 members present.

John led us in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag and introduced our newest member Rod Donhoff, owner of much MOPAR metal.

John reminded all the election of new officers is coming in November, a nominating committee will be appointed at our September meeting. Members were asked to please consider stepping forward to become an officer for the coming year.

John, Linda and several other couples are making reservations to stay at the Daytona Hilton during the October Dream Cruise in Daytona, October 24-26. Any others wishing to attend will need to make their own reservations.

Vice President Ed Fitzpatrick led a discussion about purchasing vests for our parking crew. Kim Symon moved that we purchase 15 vests at $10 each for our members who serve as parkers for the club at various events. Dave Smart seconded the motion. The motion passed. The members will be responsible for bringing their vest to the necessary events.

Bobbie Jo Brandeberry gave a review of the club accounts. Bobbie Jo moved that the secretary's minutes be accepted as posted on the club web site. Sue Fitzpatrick seconded the motion. The motion was passed.

Sunshine Lady. Kathy Craft read a thank you from the Sieck family for the club's remembrance of long time member Nancy Sieck’s passing. Don Loftis shared a story about Nancy and reported that her funeral was well attended.

Linda Novick reminded all to keep her posted about any events or information to add to the club web site.

Old business: Dave Smart still has a few club plaques, $20 each. Turkey Rod Run registration time is here again. Bob Arnold reported that we have been given 30 spaces in the playground area again this year. Please get your registration form and check to Bob ASAP. Also please let him know if you will be attending for only one day so more members can attend.

Bill Craft reported that the Sunday afternoon events have not been successful due to the summer afternoon rains. The next cruise will be on Sunday, August 17, 2008 and will be to the Oldies Diner, Clear Lake Road , next to Sonic, south of BCC. The club will be meeting at the PUBLIX in Port St. John at 8 am . Once the summer afternoon rains end we will go back to scheduling the cruises later in the day.
