Minutes of June 19, 2008 Business Meeting

 

President John Novick called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. at Denny’s, with 29 members present and two guests present.  John led us in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag and then introduced our guests for the evening, Ray & Lois Ross (owners of a ’37 Chevy, 2 door sedan). 

 

John reminded all of the following events:

·         June 21-Merritt Island Cruise In at Beef O’Brady’s, 5 p.m.

·         June 22 -Club cruise to the Jolly Gator, all will be meeting at the Shell station at SR46 & N. Carpenter, just west of I95 at 2 p.m., the Jolly Gator is about 2 miles west of the Shearer’s place on SR46—Billy Craft is the chairman and organizer

·         June 28 is the Corn Boil at Wickham Park, just north of BCC in Melbourne

·         June 28 is also the Dogs Cruise-In #2-the first one was a success and Dogs gives a discount on food to the folks bringing cars

·         There will be no Titusnites until September 6

·         The Jabber’s Cruise in was a success for member Carol Cornacchia who won and large gift basket and for Maynard Stutzman who was the winner of the 50/50.  They will continue to hold cruise ins on the second Saturday of each month.

 

John & Linda have checked out the route of the October Dream Cruise in Daytona, October 24-26.  No decision has been made at this time regarding where to stay in Daytona.

 

The club picnic will held on October 26 at Jack & Ester Valerio’s condo in Daytona.  John is still looking for a chair for the event.

 

Vice President Ed Fitzpatrick reminded all of the Chevy only show in Silver Springs in October.

 

Bobbie Jo presented the treasurer’s report.  Bobbie Jo moved that we take enough funds from the regular checking account and transfer them to the Car Show Account to make the Car Show Account balance $5,000.  Billy Craft seconded the motion.  The motion was passed.

 

Bobbie Jo moved hat the secretary’s minutes be accepted as posted on the club web site.  Sue Fitzpatrick seconded the motion.  The motion was passed. It was noted that Ruth Miller will be filling in for Linda Rhone until October.

 

There was no report from the Sunshine Lady.

 

Linda Novick reminded us that event calendar on the club website is working.  Members are asked to keep her up to date on coming events so they can be posted promptly.

 

Old business:  Dave Smart still has a few club plaques, $20 each.

 

New business:  Donna Messemer moved we get vests for our parking crew to use at the necessary events.  Bobbie Jo seconded the motion.  The motion passed.  Ed Fitzpatrick will look into the cost of vests and Bob Shearer offered to look into having the club logo added to the vests in his shop.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 7:29 p.m.
