Conley's Mystery Cruise 2004
Saturday, June 12th, 2004, was the date set for the Conley's Mystery Cruise. Just days before the cruise, Charlie and Ginger gave instructions to our members to be at Lowe's, Saturday, at high noon. Also, "Don't eat lunch!"
Our gracious hosts met over 20 of
us and proceeded to "who knows where?" After driving South on Grissom, we
finally rounded the corner of Clearlake Road and turned into the Whole Loaf
Pizza and Pasta Mission. This little non-profit restaurant is tucked away in the
end of a Jewish/Christian (?) Church Synagogue. Sounds
confusing? Well, without getting into that, this little restaurant is one of the
best kept secrets in the North Brevard area. Most of the staff is volunteer.
But, these volunteers are dedicated to their community by providing much needed
restaurant training to those underprivileged that would never have such an
opportunity. Most importantly, they're dedicated to providing good food at a
good price. Ginger and Charlie selected a combination of baked ziti and lasagna
for us all. Included with our lunch entree was salad and those great tasting
garlic knots. The food was great and plentiful. After lunch, we all piled back
into our rides and followed Rip in his Galaxie convertible over to River Drive.
This six mile stretch of road that meanders through "old Florida" was a great
drive. Lots of scenery with no traffic hassles. We eventually came onto US 1
where we all dispersed in our different directions back home. Again, Ginger and
Charlie, thanks for the great time. Our club MUST do this again, right?
