Saturday, March 25, there were four trucks, Ed Fitzpatrick's
yellow Chevy, Jerry Doucette's Dodge Purple People Eater, Big Mike's Dodge
Warlock, and Dave Smart's F1100 at the camp site (the RV parking area), with
Gary Wozniak's Buick convertible parked near by, as was Ray Pinto's Hudson
Hornet which was parked in the AMC area. On the main show field we saw Jack
Valerio & his Chevy and Ken Saul & his Mercury Caliente. Also there, but
carless were Boh Bohannan & Bob Kelley. Hopefully we didn't miss anyone. The
camera was present also, but was napping and missed getting a photo of Ed's
yellow ride--sorry Ed. It was quite nippy and windy all day Saturday. Lots
of interesting vehicles turned out as well as lots of spectators. One of the
most interesting cars there was the most radical custom seen lately. It
appears to have started out life as a late 50's Chrysler, complete with
plastic bubble top. It was done in the Daryl Starbird custom style,
but was built by "Chopit". Not practical but truly a work of art! See photos
below. Dave thanks Boh, Ed, and Jack for helping to distribute the Indian
River Festival flyers.
