Friday and Saturday, April 14 & 15, the truck contingent of
Vintage Vehicles proceeded to the UFC area of Orlando to enjoy the hospitality
of Early Irons and their 35th annual Easter Rod Run. After being virtually a
rain out last year, this years show was chock full with their largest turn out
ever. It was definitely the place to be if you were interested in 1940 Fords
or lead sleds--there were lots of both in some in very interesting colors.
There were lots of cars we don't usually see at the shows on the East
Coast. The Doucettes, the Rhones, Dave Smart , and Ruth Miller enjoyed the
traditional Friday night barbeque (absolutely delicious as always) and then
the festivities of Saturday. Margaret and Bernard Coveney were also there
enjoying all the vehicles, minus their car which is awaiting a radiator
transplant. The weather was perfect and the site offered plenty of shade to go
around. The remainder of the IRF flyers were distributed to the 350+
attending. Our IRF was mentioned many times by BJ and Jennifer in the sound
trailer and there were lots of folks interested in hearing about our show.
When making your plans for next year, please consider putting this excellent
show on your must do list!
