Business Meeting

Called to Order at 7:00 p.m. by John Novick, President - 44 members present

Presidents Report/Comments: John Novick

Do we have a quorum[1]? Secretary answers, "yes, we do."

Sue Fitzpatrick intoduced us to her neighbors and new members of our club. They are Max and Chris Zieman and Carl Hessler.

Steve Amato sold 50/50 tickets for the Tom Staggs Memorial Fund.

Elaine thanks the cllub members for their hard work putting on the NASA Expo.

IMPORTANT !!!!

Election of Club Officers will be held at our November 15th Business Meeting. It is important that all club members attend this meeting, as you all know, we still need a secretary.

Vice President's Report/Comments: Ed Fitzpatrick

Ed named the club members; Bob Arnold, Dave Smart, Ed Fitzpatrick, Maynard Stutzman, Kathy Craft, and Donna Messemer who participated in the NASA Expo to earn money for our club.

Treasurer's Report: Crystal Arnold

Crystal was absent, no report given.

Secretary's Report: Donna Messemer

Minutes of the September 20, 2007 were read, motion to accept was made by Billy Craft and seconded by Sue Fitzpatrick and passed except for Marv Imes (just to keep our past President, Tom Staggs, in our thoughts).

Sunshine Lady Report: Bobbi Jo Brandeberry

There was no report given, therefore, we assume everyone is well.

Website Report: Bob Arnold

Jack Messemer spoke for Bob Arnold about the purchase of new software for our webpage. Since, Microsoft upgraded to their new Vista Operating System, our old software no longer works. Therefore, we can purchase MS Web Expression program for $400.00 or Adobe's Dreamweaver for $600.00, which includes programs and manuals.

OLD BUSINESS:

NEW WEBMASTER: Linda Novick volunteered to try and become our new webmaster.

Also, Rip Dyal motioned to set a limit of $600.00 for our new software with manuals, Sue Fitzpatrick seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

CLUB PICNIC: Saturday, October 20, 2007 is the club picnic at Bob and Joann Shearer's house at 11:00 a.m. The members plan on meeting at the Shell Station at the junction of SR46 and I95 at 10:30 am. As soon as there are 10 vehicles, they will start out in a precession to the Shearer's house. This will continue as every 10 vehicles arrive, until everyone is accounted for, up till 10:55 a.m.

CHRISTMAS PARTY: Our Chairperson, Joan Amato has scheduled our party for Thursday, December 13, 2007 at the Plantation House at the Great Outdoors, Rte 50, Titusville. There is a copy of the Christmas Party form on our Webpage with the menu and price listed. Joan has her address on the form and our November 15th Meeting will be the last day she can accept the forms with all payments due.

Please remember that there is also a grab bag gift exchange for either a man or woman gift valued at $10.00. Please label your gifts by which gender they are, men buy a man's gift and women buy a woman's gift.

50/50: Steve Amato collected $116.00. The Tom Staggs Memorial Fund received $58.00 plus an additional $20.00 from our winner, Billy Craft, making a grand total of $78.00. Billy Craft received $38.00 after his donation.

TURKEY ROD RUN: Everyone registered for the Turkey Rod Run will get their parking passes from Bob Arnold. He receives them approximated two (2) weeks before the event and will hand them out to the registered participants.

For those club members that don't plan on using their passes for all the 4 day event can get together with other members and make their arrangements.

CHARITY DONATION: The Daytona Street Rod's collect donations for the Central Florida Food Bank during the TURKEY ROD RUN. Our Club, due to our generous club members, is the biggest donator to this charity during this event.

Sue Fitzpatrick is in charge of the donations for the past few years. Mike Symon motioned that the club donate $500.00 from one of our club accounts, Bobbi Jo seconded the motion and the motion passed except for Jack and Donna Messemer.

At this point, many members spoke about reason why our club accounts should not be touched. Elaine Fitzwater said she didn't feel they should use our club account because not all members attend the Turkey Rod Run. Bill and Kim Symon said the Car Show Account should only be used for the club putting on Car Shows. Ruth Miller asked about what our balance was in the General Fund.

At this point, Steve Amato motioned that we reverse the motion to donate $500.00 from the club account, Dave Smart seconded and the motion passed.

The process of donating to the Central Florida Food Bank was tabled till the November 15, 2007 Business Meeting. By the time we have this meeting, it will be known how much has been donated by individual members, hoping to at least have $1000.00 if not more.

NEW BUSINESS:

VALIANT AIR COMMAND SHOW: We need to elect a chairman for this show at our November 15, 2007 Business Meeting.

NAME TAGS: Joan Amato suggested that we have name tags for club events such as the Business Meeting. Our President, asked Elaine Fitzwater to look into the cost of having similar tags used at the NASA Expo.

CELERY CITY CRUISER CAR SHOW: Saturday, November 10, 2007 in Sanford is the car show. Those car club members that plan on attending will meet at 8:00 a.m. at the Shell Station at the junction of SR46 and I95.

Check the club bulletin board for any further information.

FUTURE CLUB BUSINESS MEETINGS: Dave Smart motioned that we have our club meetings at LaBamba's, Bobbi Jo seconded and it passed unanimously. LaBamba's is across from Titusville High School on US1.
