Old Town Christmas Cruise, December 9, 2006
The weather was forecast to be cold with possible showers. Not only putting a damper on the cruise but also scrubbing the launch of the space shuttle, STS-116. Well, the weather guys blew it again. We had great weather and were treated to a new perspective of the launch during the parade cruise on the red bricks. What a cool sight!
Old Town 'set aside' spaces for us at our usual "Drop Your Top Gang" parking spots next to the CN shack. They normally will not do this, so we felt very honored to receive the great treatment. Eight of our cars met at 11:30 and cruised over there with no incidents. A couple of more cars came in later. We had a great surprise with Connie Staggs bringing out Tom's 442. The Christmas Cruise was always one of Tom's favorites. Connie also brought Tom's mechanical Santa. The Santa, propped up on the rear deck, is always a crowd pleaser. Speaking of crowd pleasers, our gang was out in force with their customary crazy Christmas hats. Vintage Vehicles always will make it's presence known for the Holiday Cruise.
This year's participants were Steve Amato, Matt & Joan Amato, Bob & Crystal Arnold, Billy Craft, Ed & Sue Fitzpatrick, Jack & Donna Messemer, Dennis Reis, Connie & TJ Staggs, Steve Tremblay and Jack Valerio.
Bob Arnold, Ed Fitzpatrick and Jack Messemer finally completed a mission that Ton Staggs started last winter. On the exterior walls surrounding Trophy Row are pictures of various cars. Well, we finally marked our area with a small addition to an exisisting sign. Check it out below:
