Old Town Cruising, February 18th, 2006

Boy, what a Chamber of Commerce day! You couldn't ask for better cruising weather. Our faithful leader, Tom Staggs, led the group of Jack Messemer, Jack Valerio and Bob Arnold over to Old Town after leaving the Port St. John exit at 1:30 that afternoon. To our surprise, Trophy Row was almost filled up when we arrived. Fortunately, with some quick maneuvering, we we're all able to park in our usual spots occupied by our infamous "Drop Your Top Gang."  Almost 400 cars made their way into Old Town that night. But, with NASCAR just up the road for the weekend, it provided one of the largest spectator crowds in recent memory. They were easily lined up 4 to 6 people deep along the brick road at cruise time. We all had another great meal and some great BS'n at the Blue Max. And, the sights we're outstanding! If it's been awhile since you've cruised to Old Town, make it a point to try it with our regulars. The trip home began easily enough after we all had that customary hot dog. Except, as soon as we approached SR 192, Jack Messemer's Malibu decided to quit. We stopped traffic on the access road and pushed the Chevy in to the Seralargo Hotel parking lot. The problem was quickly identified as a fried fuel pump. Well, here comes AAA to the rescue once again. After a short wait the roll back showed up and everyone was headed back home. Jack did report that his Malibu was easily fixed the next day and was ready to roll.

An additional bonus our cruisers had a few weeks ago was a professional photograph session by Koolie Girls. The model, Kelly, was being photographed in a beautiful Shelby Mustang. Take a look at the pic's below which the photographer sent to our web site. As you see, something's always happening at Old Town.
