Tyler Roberts Benefit Car Show, June 23, 2007

What a generous day. Yes, the day started off with over 14 Vintage vehicles members attending this very worthwhile fundraiser. Tyler Roberts, the son of one Pat Conners real estate agents, has been stricken by cancer. The family, which recently lost their mother recently to the same disease, has fallen into a financial dilemma with huge hospital bills. Pat Conners headed up this event to try and help the family with much needed funds. From the large community turnout, it appears to have been a great success. We'd like to thank Pat and his staff at Century 21 Flag Agency for stepping up to the plate and organizing this event. Most importantly, we all wish Tyler a speedy and safe journey throughout his recovery.

The morning temperature was already on the hot side of the thermometer when most of us met at the Titusville Lowe's parking lot. We left for Fox lake right on time and all in order thanks to Joe Baldwin's traffic control skills. If, one may say stopping your show car in the middle of SR 405, jumping out of the car and then standing in the line of oncoming traffic with hands waving. Whew, Joe you've got guts!

Within an hour of arriving at the park, several more of our members drove onto the show field. It was very well organized. I think all of our members went all out and bought up all those raffle and 50/50 tickets. The entertainment, food and relaxing atmosphere made for great day. Not only for our members, but the Roberts family in particular. Thanks to all of you that attended!
